Omschrijving:
Beste vrienden, beste achtervolgers,
Zodra de zon gaat schijnen,begint het bij mij al weer te kriebelen… Naar buiten.. de paden op de lanen uit… Let wel: de fietspaden op!
Naar het schijnt heb ik nu de smaak te pakken.. dit jaar wordt het al weer voor de derde keer dat ik “een eindje”… ga fietsen: slaapzak, tentje, kookspullen achterop en het kan beginnen…
En waarheen gaan we deze zomer dan heen?
De keuze, stond al vrij snel na m’n terugkeer uit Lapland vast: dit jaar wordt dat Engeland en Schotland ( langs de zuidkust naar Lands End in Cornwall. Daarna langs, cq. over de ruggegraat van dit eiland: het Penninisch gebergte naar de Schotse Hooglanden).
Waarom deze kant op? Wel: enerzijds: ‘k ben nu tweemaal noordwaarts gepeddeld, een maal naar het zuiden. Tja.. wat blijft er dan nog over? Juist: het oosten en westen. En omdat de Wijzen uit het Oosten komen, zag ik niet direct een aanleiding toe om die kant op te gaan.. hoewel, als je even nadenkt: degene die uit het Oosten komen (dezelfde Wijzen dus), gaan Westwaarts! Met andere woorden: Ik ga Westwaarts!
Verder waren er nog twee redenen om met m’n neus in westelijke richting te fietsen.
Ten eerste daar m’n fietsmaat uit Canada (Gary de Leeuw) na z’n “Tour around the World” deze zomer ook weer op het Penninisch Eiland rondtoert. [hij fietste langs de Rijn en Donau – dook toen (vanwege de kou) de laars van Italië in, stak over naar Afrika (Kilimanjaro), Nieuw Zeeland]. Nu komt hij mij een stuk vergezellen door Engeland. Het is de bedoeling dat we elkaar in Ramsgate of Dover ontmoeten en dat we samen langs de zuidkust naar Lands End fietsen. Vandaar gaan we langs de westkust noordwaarts. Gary wil dan Wales in en gaat via Ierland (Dublin) huiswaarts.
Een tweede reden is omdat m’n fietsmaatje uit Oslo (Ans de Graaf) mij eind vorig jaar gevraagd heeft, haar langs de Hadrian Wall te vergezellen. Dit is een oud Romeinse muur, net onder de grens met Schotland. We zullen elkaar ontmoeten in de regio Manchester. Het plan is dan via het Lake District naar Edinburgh (NW-waarts door Schotland). Zij gaat van Edinburgh weer huiswaarts.
En ik? Als ik zo “zit te broeden”… dwalen m’n gedachten dikwijls af naar uiterste puntjes op het land.. de Nordkapp, Cape Finisterre (nabij Santiago de Compostella), Slettness - fyr (de noordelijkst gelegen vuurtoren aan de Noordelijke IJszee) .. beide laatsten heb ik dan wel niet helemaal bereikt, maar een doel moet je je stellen...., toch? Daarom zal dit jaar m’n doel in het uiterste puntje van Schotland zijn: John O’Groats!
John o'Groats is een dorp in Schotland, dat 18 km westelijk ligt van het noordelijkste puntje van het Britse vasteland. Dit draagt de naam: Dunnet Head; ook wel bekend als Easter Head. Het dorp John O’Groats ligt in het raadsgebied Highland en het historische graafschap Caithness. ( in de Schots - Gaelish is dat zoiets als: Taigh Iain Ghròt). (hoe je dat precies uitspreekt, hoor ik daar wel....)
Volgens de geschiedenisboeken zou het dorp zou zijn naam ontlenen aan een Hollander, Jan de Groot, die in 1496 het veerrecht tussen het vasteland en de Orkney-eilanden verwierf van de koning van Schotland (Jacobus IV genaamd).
De graafschap Caithness ligt in het uiterste noordoosten van het vasteland van Schotland, met de hoofdplaats is Wick. De oude, Schots-Gaelische naam voor Caithness, Lieutenancy area, wordt nog af en toe gebruikt.
Na de annexatie door de Orkney-eilanden kwamen Vikingen, die zich vestigden langs de kust. Aan de zuidkant van het graafschap werden deze nederzettingen uitgebreid tot aan Berrieledale. Veel plaatsnamen en een groot aantal familienamen in de laaglanden van het graafschap zijn van Noorse origine. Er werd een Noors dialect gesproken, alhoewel dat nagenoeg verloren is gegaan. We komen in wezen op bekend “Noors” gebied; daar waar ik in 2010 rondzwierf….
Dit gaan we dus even checken….
Volgens de boeken worden er met regelmaat wedstrijden, wandelingen, fietstochten e.d. georganiseerd tussen John O' Groats en Land's End in Cornwall, de meest zuidwestelijke punt van het Britse "vasteland". Dat heeft ook weer z’n voordelen, want… dan zijn er zeker campings, hostels of vriendelijke Engelse Lords, die je onderdak aanbieden… (en wie weet, ontmoet ik wel Ivanhoe, Sir Lancelot of Robin Hood nu eindelijk eens….)

Het is nog niet 100% zeker of ik inderdaad Gary tref, daar hij zijn plannen op het laatste moment heeft gewizigd. Hij heeft 5-6 wkn met wind tegen door Frankrijk gefietst en heeft daar op dit moment genoeg van. We will see, what happens.....

Starting along the south coast to Land´s End (Cornwall) and from there along the west coast to John O'Groats. That's the top of Scotland. Ten eerste daar m’n fietsmaat uit Canada (Gary de Leeuw) na z’n “Tour around the World” deze zomer ook weer op het Penninisch Eiland rondtoert. [hij fietste langs de Rijn en Donau – dook toen (vanwege de kou) de laars van Italië in, stak over naar Afrika (Kilimanjaro), Nieuw Zeeland]. Nu komt hij mij een stuk vergezellen door Engeland. Het is de bedoeling dat we elkaar in Ramsgate of Dover ontmoeten en dat we samen langs de zuidkust naar Lands End fietsen. Vandaar gaan we langs de westkust noordwaarts. Gary wil dan Wales in en gaat via Ierland (Dublin) huiswaarts.
Een tweede reden is omdat m’n fietsmaatje uit Oslo (Ans de Graaf) mij eind vorig jaar gevraagd heeft, haar langs de Hadrian Wall te vergezellen. Dit is een oud Romeinse muur, net onder de grens met Schotland. We zullen elkaar ontmoeten in de regio Manchester. Het plan is dan via het Lake District naar Edinburgh (NW-waarts door Schotland). Zij gaat van Edinburgh weer huiswaarts.
En ik? Als ik zo “zit te broeden”… dwalen m’n gedachten dikwijls af naar uiterste puntjes op het land.. de Nordkapp, Cape Finisterre (nabij Santiago de Compostella), Slettness - fyr (de noordelijkst gelegen vuurtoren aan de Noordelijke IJszee) .. beide laatsten heb ik dan wel niet helemaal bereikt, maar een doel moet je je stellen...., toch? Daarom zal dit jaar m’n doel in het uiterste puntje van Schotland zijn: John O’Groats!
John o'Groats is een dorp in Schotland, dat 18 km westelijk ligt van het noordelijkste puntje van het Britse vasteland. Dit draagt de naam: Dunnet Head; ook wel bekend als Easter Head. Het dorp John O’Groats ligt in het raadsgebied Highland en het historische graafschap Caithness. ( in de Schots - Gaelish is dat zoiets als: Taigh Iain Ghròt). (hoe je dat precies uitspreekt, hoor ik daar wel....)
Volgens de geschiedenisboeken zou het dorp zou zijn naam ontlenen aan een Hollander, Jan de Groot, die in 1496 het veerrecht tussen het vasteland en de Orkney-eilanden verwierf van de koning van Schotland (Jacobus IV genaamd).
De graafschap Caithness ligt in het uiterste noordoosten van het vasteland van Schotland, met de hoofdplaats is Wick. De oude, Schots-Gaelische naam voor Caithness, Lieutenancy area, wordt nog af en toe gebruikt.
Na de annexatie door de Orkney-eilanden kwamen Vikingen, die zich vestigden langs de kust. Aan de zuidkant van het graafschap werden deze nederzettingen uitgebreid tot aan Berrieledale. Veel plaatsnamen en een groot aantal familienamen in de laaglanden van het graafschap zijn van Noorse origine. Er werd een Noors dialect gesproken, alhoewel dat nagenoeg verloren is gegaan. We komen in wezen op bekend “Noors” gebied; daar waar ik in 2010 rondzwierf….
Dit gaan we dus even checken….
Volgens de boeken worden er met regelmaat wedstrijden, wandelingen, fietstochten e.d. georganiseerd tussen John O' Groats en Land's End in Cornwall, de meest zuidwestelijke punt van het Britse "vasteland". Dat heeft ook weer z’n voordelen, want… dan zijn er zeker campings, hostels of vriendelijke Engelse Lords, die je onderdak aanbieden… (en wie weet, ontmoet ik wel Ivanhoe, Sir Lancelot of Robin Hood nu eindelijk eens….)

Het is nog niet 100% zeker of ik inderdaad Gary tref, daar hij zijn plannen op het laatste moment heeft gewizigd. Hij heeft 5-6 wkn met wind tegen door Frankrijk gefietst en heeft daar op dit moment genoeg van. We will see, what happens.....

Starting along the south coast to Land´s End (Cornwall) and from there along the west coast to John O'Groats. That's the top of Scotland. Beste vrienden, beste achtervolgers,
Zodra de zon gaat schijnen,begint het bij mij al weer te kriebelen… Naar buiten.. de paden op de lanen uit… Let wel: de fietspaden op!
Naar het schijnt heb ik nu de smaak te pakken.. dit jaar wordt het al weer voor de derde keer dat ik “een eindje”… ga fietsen: slaapzak, tentje, kookspullen achterop en het kan beginnen…
En waarheen gaan we deze zomer dan heen?
De keuze, stond al vrij snel na m’n terugkeer uit Lapland vast: dit jaar wordt dat Engeland en Schotland ( langs de zuidkust naar Lands End in Cornwall. Daarna langs, cq. over de ruggegraat van dit eiland: het Penninisch gebergte naar de Schotse Hooglanden).
Waarom deze kant op? Wel: enerzijds: ‘k ben nu tweemaal noordwaarts gepeddeld, een maal naar het zuiden. Tja.. wat blijft er dan nog over? Juist: het oosten en westen. En omdat de Wijzen uit het Oosten komen, zag ik niet direct een aanleiding toe om die kant op te gaan.. hoewel, als je even nadenkt: degene die uit het Oosten komen (dezelfde Wijzen dus), gaan Westwaarts! Met andere woorden: Ik ga Westwaarts!
Verder waren er nog twee redenen om met m’n neus in westelijke richting te fietsen.
Ten eerste daar m’n fietsmaat uit Canada (Gary de Leeuw) na z’n “Tour around the World” deze zomer ook weer op het Penninisch Eiland rondtoert. [hij fietste langs de Rijn en Donau – dook toen (vanwege de kou) de laars van Italië in, stak over naar Afrika (Kilimanjaro), Nieuw Zeeland]. Nu komt hij mij een stuk vergezellen door Engeland. Het is de bedoeling dat we elkaar in Ramsgate of Dover ontmoeten en dat we samen langs de zuidkust naar Lands End fietsen. Vandaar gaan we langs de westkust noordwaarts. Gary wil dan Wales in en gaat via Ierland (Dublin) huiswaarts.
Een tweede reden is omdat m’n fietsmaatje uit Oslo (Ans de Graaf) mij eind vorig jaar gevraagd heeft, haar langs de Hadrian Wall te vergezellen. Dit is een oud Romeinse muur, net onder de grens met Schotland. We zullen elkaar ontmoeten in de regio Manchester. Het plan is dan via het Lake District naar Edinburgh (NW-waarts door Schotland). Zij gaat van Edinburgh weer huiswaarts.
En ik? Als ik zo “zit te broeden”… dwalen m’n gedachten dikwijls af naar uiterste puntjes op het land.. de Nordkapp, Cape Finisterre (nabij Santiago de Compostella), Slettness - fyr (de noordelijkst gelegen vuurtoren aan de Noordelijke IJszee) .. beide laatsten heb ik dan wel niet helemaal bereikt, maar een doel moet je je stellen...., toch? Daarom zal dit jaar m’n doel in het uiterste puntje van Schotland zijn: John O’Groats!
John o'Groats is een dorp in Schotland, dat 18 km westelijk ligt van het noordelijkste puntje van het Britse vasteland. Dit draagt de naam: Dunnet Head; ook wel bekend als Easter Head. Het dorp John O’Groats ligt in het raadsgebied Highland en het historische graafschap Caithness. ( in de Schots - Gaelish is dat zoiets als: Taigh Iain Ghròt). (hoe je dat precies uitspreekt, hoor ik daar wel....)
Volgens de geschiedenisboeken zou het dorp zou zijn naam ontlenen aan een Hollander, Jan de Groot, die in 1496 het veerrecht tussen het vasteland en de Orkney-eilanden verwierf van de koning van Schotland (Jacobus IV genaamd).
De graafschap Caithness ligt in het uiterste noordoosten van het vasteland van Schotland, met de hoofdplaats is Wick. De oude, Schots-Gaelische naam voor Caithness, Lieutenancy area, wordt nog af en toe gebruikt.
Na de annexatie door de Orkney-eilanden kwamen Vikingen, die zich vestigden langs de kust. Aan de zuidkant van het graafschap werden deze nederzettingen uitgebreid tot aan Berrieledale. Veel plaatsnamen en een groot aantal familienamen in de laaglanden van het graafschap zijn van Noorse origine. Er werd een Noors dialect gesproken, alhoewel dat nagenoeg verloren is gegaan. We komen in wezen op bekend “Noors” gebied; daar waar ik in 2010 rondzwierf….
Dit gaan we dus even checken….
Volgens de boeken worden er met regelmaat wedstrijden, wandelingen, fietstochten e.d. georganiseerd tussen John O' Groats en Land's End in Cornwall, de meest zuidwestelijke punt van het Britse "vasteland". Dat heeft ook weer z’n voordelen, want… dan zijn er zeker campings, hostels of vriendelijke Engelse Lords, die je onderdak aanbieden… (en wie weet, ontmoet ik wel Ivanhoe, Sir Lancelot of Robin Hood nu eindelijk eens….)

Het is nog niet 100% zeker of ik inderdaad Gary tref, daar hij zijn plannen op het laatste moment heeft gewizigd. Hij heeft 5-6 wkn met wind tegen door Frankrijk gefietst en heeft daar op dit moment genoeg van. We will see, what happens.....

Starting along the south coast to Land´s End (Cornwall) and from there along the west coast to John O'Groats. That's the top of Scotland. Beste vrienden, beste achtervolgers,
Zodra de zon gaat schijnen,begint het bij mij al weer te kriebelen… Naar buiten.. de paden op de lanen uit… Let wel: de fietspaden op!
Naar het schijnt heb ik nu de smaak te pakken.. dit jaar wordt het al weer voor de derde keer dat ik “een eindje”… ga fietsen: slaapzak, tentje, kookspullen achterop en het kan beginnen…
En waarheen gaan we deze zomer dan heen?
De keuze, stond al vrij snel na m’n terugkeer uit Lapland vast: dit jaar wordt dat Engeland en Schotland ( langs de zuidkust naar Lands End in Cornwall. Daarna langs, cq. over de ruggegraat van dit eiland: het Penninisch gebergte naar de Schotse Hooglanden).
Waarom deze kant op? Wel: enerzijds: ‘k ben nu tweemaal noordwaarts gepeddeld, een maal naar het zuiden. Tja.. wat blijft er dan nog over? Juist: het oosten en westen. En omdat de Wijzen uit het Oosten komen, zag ik niet direct een aanleiding toe om die kant op te gaan.. hoewel, als je even nadenkt: degene die uit het Oosten komen (dezelfde Wijzen dus), gaan Westwaarts! Met andere woorden: Ik ga Westwaarts!
Verder waren er nog twee redenen om met m’n neus in westelijke richting te fietsen.
Ten eerste daar m’n fietsmaat uit Canada (Gary de Leeuw) na z’n “Tour around the World” deze zomer ook weer op het Penninisch Eiland rondtoert. [hij fietste langs de Rijn en Donau – dook toen (vanwege de kou) de laars van Italië in, stak over naar Afrika (Kilimanjaro), Nieuw Zeeland]. Nu komt hij mij een stuk vergezellen door Engeland. Het is de bedoeling dat we elkaar in Ramsgate of Dover ontmoeten en dat we samen langs de zuidkust naar Lands End fietsen. Vandaar gaan we langs de westkust noordwaarts. Gary wil dan Wales in en gaat via Ierland (Dublin) huiswaarts.
Een tweede reden is omdat m’n fietsmaatje uit Oslo (Ans de Graaf) mij eind vorig jaar gevraagd heeft, haar langs de Hadrian Wall te vergezellen. Dit is een oud Romeinse muur, net onder de grens met Schotland. We zullen elkaar ontmoeten in de regio Manchester. Het plan is dan via het Lake District naar Edinburgh (NW-waarts door Schotland). Zij gaat van Edinburgh weer huiswaarts.
En ik? Als ik zo “zit te broeden”… dwalen m’n gedachten dikwijls af naar uiterste puntjes op het land.. de Nordkapp, Cape Finisterre (nabij Santiago de Compostella), Slettness - fyr (de noordelijkst gelegen vuurtoren aan de Noordelijke IJszee) .. beide laatsten heb ik dan wel niet helemaal bereikt, maar een doel moet je je stellen...., toch? Daarom zal dit jaar m’n doel in het uiterste puntje van Schotland zijn: John O’Groats!
John o'Groats is een dorp in Schotland, dat 18 km westelijk ligt van het noordelijkste puntje van het Britse vasteland. Dit draagt de naam: Dunnet Head; ook wel bekend als Easter Head. Het dorp John O’Groats ligt in het raadsgebied Highland en het historische graafschap Caithness. ( in de Schots - Gaelish is dat zoiets als: Taigh Iain Ghròt). (hoe je dat precies uitspreekt, hoor ik daar wel....)
Volgens de geschiedenisboeken zou het dorp zou zijn naam ontlenen aan een Hollander, Jan de Groot, die in 1496 het veerrecht tussen het vasteland en de Orkney-eilanden verwierf van de koning van Schotland (Jacobus IV genaamd).
De graafschap Caithness ligt in het uiterste noordoosten van het vasteland van Schotland, met de hoofdplaats is Wick. De oude, Schots-Gaelische naam voor Caithness, Lieutenancy area, wordt nog af en toe gebruikt.
Na de annexatie door de Orkney-eilanden kwamen Vikingen, die zich vestigden langs de kust. Aan de zuidkant van het graafschap werden deze nederzettingen uitgebreid tot aan Berrieledale. Veel plaatsnamen en een groot aantal familienamen in de laaglanden van het graafschap zijn van Noorse origine. Er werd een Noors dialect gesproken, alhoewel dat nagenoeg verloren is gegaan. We komen in wezen op bekend “Noors” gebied; daar waar ik in 2010 rondzwierf….
Dit gaan we dus even checken….
Volgens de boeken worden er met regelmaat wedstrijden, wandelingen, fietstochten e.d. georganiseerd tussen John O' Groats en Land's End in Cornwall, de meest zuidwestelijke punt van het Britse "vasteland". Dat heeft ook weer z’n voordelen, want… dan zijn er zeker campings, hostels of vriendelijke Engelse Lords, die je onderdak aanbieden… (en wie weet, ontmoet ik wel Ivanhoe, Sir Lancelot of Robin Hood nu eindelijk eens….)

Het is nog niet 100% zeker of ik inderdaad Gary tref, daar hij zijn plannen op het laatste moment heeft gewizigd. Hij heeft 5-6 wkn met wind tegen door Frankrijk gefietst en heeft daar op dit moment genoeg van. We will see, what happens.....

Starting along the south coast to Land´s End (Cornwall) and from there along the west coast to John O'Groats. That's the top of Scotland. Zodra de zon gaat schijnen,begint het bij mij al weer te kriebelen… Naar buiten.. de paden op de lanen uit… Let wel: de fietspaden op!
Naar het schijnt heb ik nu de smaak te pakken.. dit jaar wordt het al weer voor de derde keer dat ik “een eindje”… ga fietsen: slaapzak, tentje, kookspullen achterop en het kan beginnen…
En waarheen gaan we deze zomer dan heen?
De keuze, stond al vrij snel na m’n terugkeer uit Lapland vast: dit jaar wordt dat Engeland en Schotland ( langs de zuidkust naar Lands End in Cornwall. Daarna langs, cq. over de ruggegraat van dit eiland: het Penninisch gebergte naar de Schotse Hooglanden).
Waarom deze kant op? Wel: enerzijds: ‘k ben nu tweemaal noordwaarts gepeddeld, een maal naar het zuiden. Tja.. wat blijft er dan nog over? Juist: het oosten en westen. En omdat de Wijzen uit het Oosten komen, zag ik niet direct een aanleiding toe om die kant op te gaan.. hoewel, als je even nadenkt: degene die uit het Oosten komen (dezelfde Wijzen dus), gaan Westwaarts! Met andere woorden: Ik ga Westwaarts!
Verder waren er nog twee redenen om met m’n neus in westelijke richting te fietsen.
Ten eerste daar m’n fietsmaat uit Canada (Gary de Leeuw) na z’n “Tour around the World” deze zomer ook weer op het Penninisch Eiland rondtoert. [hij fietste langs de Rijn en Donau – dook toen (vanwege de kou) de laars van Italië in, stak over naar Afrika (Kilimanjaro), Nieuw Zeeland]. Nu komt hij mij een stuk vergezellen door Engeland. Het is de bedoeling dat we elkaar in Ramsgate of Dover ontmoeten en dat we samen langs de zuidkust naar Lands End fietsen. Vandaar gaan we langs de westkust noordwaarts. Gary wil dan Wales in en gaat via Ierland (Dublin) huiswaarts.
Een tweede reden is omdat m’n fietsmaatje uit Oslo (Ans de Graaf) mij eind vorig jaar gevraagd heeft, haar langs de Hadrian Wall te vergezellen. Dit is een oud Romeinse muur, net onder de grens met Schotland. We zullen elkaar ontmoeten in de regio Manchester. Het plan is dan via het Lake District naar Edinburgh (NW-waarts door Schotland). Zij gaat van Edinburgh weer huiswaarts.
En ik? Als ik zo “zit te broeden”… dwalen m’n gedachten dikwijls af naar uiterste puntjes op het land.. de Nordkapp, Cape Finisterre (nabij Santiago de Compostella), Slettness - fyr (de noordelijkst gelegen vuurtoren aan de Noordelijke IJszee) .. beide laatsten heb ik dan wel niet helemaal bereikt, maar een doel moet je je stellen...., toch? Daarom zal dit jaar m’n doel in het uiterste puntje van Schotland zijn: John O’Groats!
John o'Groats is een dorp in Schotland, dat 18 km westelijk ligt van het noordelijkste puntje van het Britse vasteland. Dit draagt de naam: Dunnet Head; ook wel bekend als Easter Head. Het dorp John O’Groats ligt in het raadsgebied Highland en het historische graafschap Caithness. ( in de Schots - Gaelish is dat zoiets als: Taigh Iain Ghròt). (hoe je dat precies uitspreekt, hoor ik daar wel....)
Volgens de geschiedenisboeken zou het dorp zou zijn naam ontlenen aan een Hollander, Jan de Groot, die in 1496 het veerrecht tussen het vasteland en de Orkney-eilanden verwierf van de koning van Schotland (Jacobus IV genaamd).
De graafschap Caithness ligt in het uiterste noordoosten van het vasteland van Schotland, met de hoofdplaats is Wick. De oude, Schots-Gaelische naam voor Caithness, Lieutenancy area, wordt nog af en toe gebruikt.
Na de annexatie door de Orkney-eilanden kwamen Vikingen, die zich vestigden langs de kust. Aan de zuidkant van het graafschap werden deze nederzettingen uitgebreid tot aan Berrieledale. Veel plaatsnamen en een groot aantal familienamen in de laaglanden van het graafschap zijn van Noorse origine. Er werd een Noors dialect gesproken, alhoewel dat nagenoeg verloren is gegaan. We komen in wezen op bekend “Noors” gebied; daar waar ik in 2010 rondzwierf….
Dit gaan we dus even checken….
Volgens de boeken worden er met regelmaat wedstrijden, wandelingen, fietstochten e.d. georganiseerd tussen John O' Groats en Land's End in Cornwall, de meest zuidwestelijke punt van het Britse "vasteland". Dat heeft ook weer z’n voordelen, want… dan zijn er zeker campings, hostels of vriendelijke Engelse Lords, die je onderdak aanbieden… (en wie weet, ontmoet ik wel Ivanhoe, Sir Lancelot of Robin Hood nu eindelijk eens….)

Het is nog niet 100% zeker of ik inderdaad Gary tref, daar hij zijn plannen op het laatste moment heeft gewizigd. Hij heeft 5-6 wkn met wind tegen door Frankrijk gefietst en heeft daar op dit moment genoeg van. We will see, what happens.....

Starting along the south coast to Land´s End (Cornwall) and from there along the west coast to John O'Groats. That's the top of Scotland.
